Check your phone refresh rate

Modern phones often switch dynamically between refresh rates such as 60Hz, 90Hz and 120Hz to balance smoothness and battery life. The number may change depending on power mode, content, temperature and device settings.

How to test refresh rate on a phone

Open this page directly on the phone, keep the browser visible, turn off battery saver if appropriate and allow the test to stabilize. Adaptive-refresh devices may not stay at the maximum rate continuously.

Why mobile refresh rate can change

LTPO and other adaptive-display systems can lower the panel refresh rate when motion is limited. Interpret the result as the current browser-visible cadence.

A reading close to 60, 75, 90, 120, 144, 165 or 240 Hz usually means that mode is active. Small variations such as 143.9 Hz are normal.

Why is my result lower than expected?

Check your operating-system display settings, monitor menu, cable or adapter limits, GPU settings, power-saving mode and browser tab visibility. A 144Hz monitor can still run at 60Hz when the higher mode is not selected.

Yes. On a phone configured for high refresh, the measured rate can approach 120Hz while the browser is actively animating.

Why does my 120Hz phone show 60Hz?+

Battery saver, adaptive refresh logic, browser limits or a 60Hz system setting may be responsible.
